Sports Rehab and Performance

“You don’t play sports to get fit, you get fit to play sports.”

Occasional injury is a natural part of playing sports.  We will help you to recover faster and help you to be able to trust your body again to compete.

Recovery alone is not enough.  Most people will “heal and recover” by sitting on the couch and eating pizza for a month or two.  Those people may “heal,” but wont be safe for sports.  You need stepping stones from injury all the way to full athletic performance.  That is why you will use some of the best return-to-sport training approaches currently available.

Our therapists are trained and certified in manual therapy in order to reduce your pain, improve your mobility, and to help your body regain full mechanical function as fast as possible.

Before you begin playing again, you want to FEEL and KNOW that your injury is healed and that your body can compete.    Athletes know that it takes time after an injury to fully trust their body again while in-game.  You want to be thinking about the game, not worrying about moving or landing wrong . You will need stepping stones in your rehab to help simulate game stress on your body so you can learn to fully trust the injured region.  As you start moving again, early and safe activity will be essential.  You will work toward building confidence and strength as you perform sport specific exercise.

At Atlas, you will train on state of the art performance equipment to prepare you to the demands of sport, and to improve you abilities.  You will train like the pros using on exercise machines like Pilates Reformer and a vertimax trainer.  You may also exercise in a state-of-the art therapy pool on an underwater treadmill (for leg and back injuries).  Aquatic training allows earlier faster recovery of mobility and strength and will allow you to exert yourself safely.
